New Jersey Society of CPAs to Host 12th Annual Convention & Expo on Steadying the Course of Business Uncertainty
May 25, 2017
ROSELAND, N.J. – The New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJCPA) will hold its 12th Annual Convention & Expo on June 14 to 16, 2017, at the Borgata in Atlantic City. Advisory leadership, industry executives and entrepreneurs will be on hand to guide attendees in “Steadying the Course” of operating in today’s business climate.
Featured speakers include Bill Rancic, winner of The Apprentice, entrepreneur and author; Gene Marks, CPA, The Marks Group, P.C.; Captain Larry Brudnicki, the former Coast Guard captain associated with The Perfect Storm rescue (which the book/movie were largely based on) and best-selling author and motivational speaker John O’Leary. New Jersey Senator Steven V. Oroho will also participate in a New Jersey business and economic roundtable.
Attendees will hear discussions centered on the Trump administration; employing a multigenerational workforce; audit and tax updates; big data, analytics and valuation; how accountants are moving away from compliance to proactive business strategizing; and what steps are necessary to generate new business. In addition, boot camps will run simultaneously on topics, such as social security tax, new IRS partnership audit rules, technologies that will impact industry, and cybersecurity.
“This year’s conference promises to be insightful — one that’s not only in tune with the day-to-day challenges impacting accountants and other business professionals but presents some real-life solutions,” said Ralph Albert Thomas, CGMA, CEO and Executive Director at NJCPA.
The convention also features more than 70 exhibitors and a number of networking opportunities for speakers, vendors and attendees alike. In addition, most sessions offer continuing professional education (CPE) credits, which are needed for CPA requirements.
