OVERVIEW

While the estate and gift tax have been greatly relaxed, many clients will still require estate planning services in the current year. This course examines the fundamentals of estate planning including critical concepts in marital deduction planning, credit shelter trusts, selection and powers of trustees, and titling and funding issues. The comprehensive manual provides an in-depth analysis of will provisions, checklists, flow charts, and real-life examples.

Maury B. Reiter is a shareholder and managing principal in the regional law firm of Kaplin Stewart Meloff Reiter & Stein, P.C. He is chairman of the firm’s tax and estate department, and member of its corporate and real estate departments. He counsels individuals, professional service organizations, real estate developers, and regional, national, and international businesses, serving them through his extensive expertise in federal taxation, estate planning, acquisitions and sales of business, real estate transactions, general commercial and contract matters, and preparation of agreements among business owners. Mr. Reiter lectures extensively on various topics. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Upon graduating from Temple University Law School, Mr. Reiter attended New York University Law School, where he earned his LL.M. degree in taxation.
