OVERVIEW

Walter Pagano, a partner with EisnerAmper, will discuss Cryptocurrency and its impact on the Tax Profession. He will discuss tax technology and the transformation of the Tax Profession and the impact on prosective employers, education and the technical and personal qualifications needed to succed in the future.

Jonathan Bressman is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law and the Taxation sections of the American Bar Association and the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law, Elder Law and Taxation sections of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He is a graduate of Lehigh University with a B.A. in English and was an officer in the Sigma Tau Delta English Honorary Society. He earned his law degree from Temple University School of Law. Mr. Bressman has been a member in good standing of the New Jersey Bar since 1988. Mr. Bressman’s practice is primarily focused on estate planning and estate administration, Special Needs planning, Medicaid eligibility planning, business planning and tax matters. Jonathan Bressman, Esq. has lectured for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education, New Jersey State Bar Foundation, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, various local organizations, schools and brokerage firms.

Nicole M. DeRosa is a tax partner with Wiss in Florham Park, NJ and has more than 15 years of public accounting experience, specializing in taxation for closely held businesses and individuals. In addition to working with clients in an array of industries, she was also an adjunct professor at Raritan Valley Community College, where she taught Tax Accounting for Individuals for four years.

Ms. DeRosa is a member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and is active on the Content Advisory Board and Federal Taxation Interest Group; she is currently a member of the Board of Trustees. In 2019, she was awarded the “Women to Watch” Ovation Award, which applauds the growth and success of female members for their leadership, potential, contributions, and commitment to fostering the success of their colleagues. In 2022, she was awarded the “Impact” Ovation Award, which recognizes those who exhibit exemplary efforts and stellar achievement in advancing the interests and needs of New Jersey’s accounting profession through active engagement, leadership, and advocacy. Ms. DeRosa was also named to the 2022 edition of the NJ BIZ Power 50 List for the third year in a row; this list accounts for the most influential men and women in the accounting profession that helps to keep the states’ business on track. In Nicole’s spare time, she enjoys staying active at the gym, volunteering at the local animal shelter, and is active in various charitable organizations, such as St. Jude.

Ms. DeRosa is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, with degrees in accountancy and a Master of Science in Accountancy.

Mr. Oluyadi is with the firm of CohnReznick in Roseland. He is a mentor both inside and outside of his firm. Through his alma mater, Union High School, Bayaan participates in the USuccess program, where he speaks with students about the accounting profession. He is also a member of the NJCPA Student Programs & Scholarship Committee. He holds the honor of being the youngest member of the Monmouth University Alumni Association’s Board of Directors. He is also a Director with the Union County Chapter of the NJCPA.

Walter Pagano

Prior to joining EisnerAmper LLP, Walter served as Partner-in-Charge of Litigation Consulting and Forensic Accounting at another public accounting firm. His background also includes serving 10 years as a Revenue Agent with the United States Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Newark District. In this position, Walter conducted forensic and tax audits of businesses and individuals, and also trained Revenue Agents and Criminal Investigation Special Agents in the applicable provisions of income tax law. In addition, he was an Appeals Officer, co-authored the IRS’ Commodity Tax Shelter Training Manual, examined abusive tax shelters, and assisted federal prosecutors as a forensic accountant in prosecuting various tax crimes. Walter is a frequent guest speaker on topics such as forensic accounting, IRS investigations and White Collar Crime. He received his B.S. from Saint Joseph’s University and Master’s degree from New York University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA), New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), American Bar Association (ABA) and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
