OVERVIEW

Meeting of the Governmental Accounting & Auditing Interest Group. This is an in person meeting only.

BENEFITS

Speakers from the NJ Department of Environmental Protection Agency, the NJ Environmental Infrastructure Trust and the Department of Human Services will discuss various A&A Related Issues.

HIGHLIGHTS

Topics to be discussed include:
  • the implementation of the WISE Act,
  • the types of financing offered by the NJEIT / NJDEP and,
  • the A&A requirements of the local units once they are in the program,
  • update on what’s new in 2018.

    Other Highlights include:

    the types of audits conducted by DHS, accounting & auditing reporting requirements of County Welfare Agencies (CWA), & uniform guidance and compliance requirements for grants awarded to CWA

    Mark E. Talbot, CPA, earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the College of New Jersey. Mr. Talbot has been with the Department of Human Services for over 18 years, 15 of which have been spent in the Office of Auditing in various field and office capacities. In his current capacity, he is primarily responsible for providing support to the regional field audit and Departmental operating units with the goal of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the DHS audit function. This includes the responsibility for the quality of work issues by the Office of Auditing. During the course of his career, Mr. Talbot has been involved in numerous special projects and auditor training activities. Most recently, he developed and presented the audit module as part of the Department’s Contracting Fundamentals training.
