For Americans who responded to a study for people over the age of 50, 55% stated they have no will and 72% do not have an up to date will. In this meeting, the speaker will discuss the goals of estate planning, basic estate planning documents, and types of trusts. He will review taxation guidelines for trusts and estates in light of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, as well as state taxation.

In this meeting, the speaker will discuss:

  • The basics of long-term care: what it is and who needs it
  • Receiving care: where your client can receive care
  • The cost of care: median costs, who pays for it, and how much should be set aside
  • Planning ahead: putting together a long term care team, what documents your client needs, adressing concerns about age, and topics for your client's financial advisor and elder care attorney
  • The five buckets of planning

In 2010, Bernie received the Teal Heart Award from the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners – Monmouth / Ocean Chapter. In 2012 she received the Shore Region President’s award for her contributions to the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners Shore Region.

Bernie holds two patents from the USA Commissioner of Patents & Trademarks; Telemarketing Complex Performance Management Systems, 1992 and Telemarketing Complex with Automatic Threshold Levels, 1995.
