OVERVIEW

Have you ever felt inadequate, like you don’t belong, or feel like a fraud? Have you ever feared that you are going to be exposed as an incompetent, or worse – your client exposes you? Have you ever felt like you are fooling everyone? Have you ever won something or received an award and the first thing that comes to mind is “Boy did they really get this wrong in choosing me?” Well, if you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you are not alone. In fact, you are in pretty great company because all of the following people have admitted to suffering from imposter syndrome: Michael Strahan, Tom Hanks, Tina Fey, and Michelle Obama.Let’s spend an hour learning about what this is, what are the signs of it, how it manifests itself, and how to overcome it!

Suzanne Orlando, LCSW

Suzanne Orlando, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from New York University in 2004 and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2000. Suzanne has been practicing psychotherapy in New Jersey, since 2006. Suzanne is highly experienced in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults with social emotional challenges, depression, and mainly anxiety. Additionally, she has worked extensively with the LGBTQI+ population and their families, as well as high risk clients with histories of self injury and suicidality. Suzanne has an eclectic treatment approach utilizing a strength and strategy based perspective. Although she has extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) her philosophy is to meet her clients where they are, and develop a working connection with every client who walks through her door. Suzanne also partners with a local Wild Mustang Rescue where she does equine therapy (therapy with horses) with some of her clients, who may benefit from a more unique approach to therapy. As an Anxiety Strategy Coach, Suzanne sees people every day be it professionally, and personally who do not feel they have the ability to be in control of their anxiety. They feel overwhelmed by all that life throws at them and it breaks her heart because she knows they can overcome it all if they are willing and open to learn how. She has helped thousands of people learn proven anxiety strategies and reclaim the life they were meant to live.
