Bill to Help Pass-Through Business Owners Passes Assembly Committee

A bill that would allow New Jersey flow-through entities to pay entity-level taxes on their net taxable income instead of having these individual business owners pay the New Jersey gross income tax passed the Assembly Appropriations Committee on March 18.

Governor Murphy Signs Bill Raising Minimum Wage to $15

Governor Phil Murphy today signed legislation that will raise New Jersey's minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2024. Under the new law, the base minimum wage for New Jersey workers will increase to $10 per hour on July 1, 2019, and then will increase by $1 per hour every Jan. 1 until it reaches $15 per hour on Jan. 1, 2024.

Legislation that updates the statute governing the CPA profession in New Jersey was signed into law today by Governor Phil Murphy. Changes include an update to the definition of attest, firm mobility improvements and CPE reciprocity.
