ROSELAND, N.J. – Amid turbulent times this fall, whether related to challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic or due to a natural weather disaster, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) is offering a Disaster Recovery Guide for New Jersey residents and businesses. The guide, which is updated annually, provides a resource for replacing lost or damaged personal documents and recovering more effectively from a disaster.
The Disaster Recovery Guide provides contact information for state and federal offices and insurance companies, as well as ways to replace credit cards, passports, automobile titles or other documents. Information on how to avoid disaster-related fraud amid the COVID-19 pandemic is also included.
“Disasters are a bit easier to handle if you have some support from colleagues, your community and your CPA. Knowing where to turn for damaged or lost information in a disaster can mean a world of difference,” said Ralph Albert Thomas, CPA (DC), CGMA, CEO and executive director at the NJCPA.
