The presentation will commence with the analysis of the subject company's financial statements including the forensics required to normalize the reported earnings and explain how these efforts are necessary and how they impact the ultimate valuation. The presentation will continue to describe the litigation environment and how it affects the valuation. The litigation environment includes the statutory and case law for the particular legal vicinage along with the professional parameters for a specific valuation engagement.

Lloyd George is the founder of a boutique CPA firm specializing in business valuation and forensic accounting. Since 2001, he has conducted a broad range of valuation and litigation support assignments, following over 30 years combined military, “Big-8” and private industry experience. Experience includes military, manufacturing, global pharma, global financial services, federal & state government, health care and tax exempt organizations. He is a combat veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, a former auditor and consultant with Ernst & Young and a former Deputy Commissioner of Revenue for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

He holds a BS (Engineering) from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and a MBA (Management) from Boston University. Fellow AICPA, NJCPA and National Association of Business Valuators & Analysts; Past President, Mercer Chapter, NJCPA; former NJCPA Trustee/Secretary/Leader of the Business Valuation & Litigation Services Interest Group/chair of multiple Trustee committees, selected to “50 Over 50” and the inaugural “The CPA List”. Co-producer of several ADR Days for the NJ Institute of CLE and the Annual Business Valuation/Litigation Services Conference for the NJCPA. Board member New Jersey Entrepreneurial Network and member Einstein’s Alley Collaborative.

Jerome M. Newler, CPA/CFF, is the principal of J. M. Newler CPA & Co., with offices in Mountainside and Long Branch. The firm provides financial services to closely held businesses covering a broad spectrum of industries, including financial reporting, tax reporting and compliance; and planning for estates, trusts, individuals, partnerships and corporations. Mr. Newler’s more than 30 years of experience includes a specialization in litigation services covering forensics, business valuations and loss damages as found in disputes emanating from divorce, minority stockholder actions and partnership dissolutions. Mr. Newler has testified extensively as an expert in such matters in his roles as a court-appointed expert, as well as a jointly selected expert and as an advocate.

Mr. Newler has served on committees educating CPAs and members of the bench and bar for more than 25 years. His professional memberships include the NJCPA, the AICPA, the Institute of Business Appraisers, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and the National Society of Public Accountants.

Mr. Newler received a bachelor’s in accounting and marketing from Marquette University. He also majored in economics and international business at New York University’s Graduate School of Business.
