Surgent Certificate Programs

The Agentic AI Series equips tax, accounting, audit, and finance professionals to work with autonomous and agentic AI systems that can perceive, reason, plan, and act with minimal oversight. You’ll learn how these agents differ from traditional automation and generative AI—and how to apply them responsibly across real finance and assurance workflows.

The program includes five modules (2 CPE each)—Foundations, Audit & Assurance, Tax & Advisory, Governance & Risk, and a Hands-On ChatGPT Lab. Content is tool-agnostic and practical, with scenarios, controls, and documentation techniques mapped to relevant standards and emerging regulations. Complete all five modules to earn a Credly digital badge you can share on LinkedIn and your resume.

Agentic AI Foundations for Finance and Accounting

Define Agentic AI vs. GenAI/RPA, learn the PRAL loop (Perceive–Reason–Act–Learn), and explore enterprise platforms like Microsoft Copilot, IBM WatsonX, and UiPath. Includes a brief agent simulation using ChatGPT. (2 credits)

Autonomous Agents in Audit & Assurance

See how agents transform risk assessment, evidence gathering, and control testing. Align workflows with PCAOB/ISA/AICPA standards and design controls to validate, monitor, and document agent behavior. (2 credits)

Tax & Advisory with Agentic AI

Explore agent-led tax compliance, planning, and advisory (e.g., transfer pricing automation, simulations). Address risks around bias, confidentiality, and UPL while aligning to EU AI Act and OECD guidance. (2 credits)

Governing Agentic AI: Cybersecurity, Data & Risk

Apply NIST AI RMF and CSA red-teaming guidance to agent deployments. Tackle prompt injection, data leakage, and model manipulation while mapping to COSO/SOX and evolving regulations. (2 credits)

Build an AI Agent with ChatGPT: Hands-On Lab

A no-code lab using basic ChatGPT to emulate agent autonomy via role-play and structured loops. Design task-specific “agents,” evaluate outputs, and document risks, controls, and ethics.(2 credits)
