Morris/Sussex Chapter Panel Discussion for Students and CPA Candidates (E2111569)

12:00 PM - 1:15 PM EST

Learn about career opportunities in accounting by hearing directly from people in the profession.

Students and CPA candidates.

This panel discussion will broaden your awareness of the different areas that accountants specialize. Four CPAs from the NJCPA Morris/Sussex Chapter will discuss their respective specialties, including the following:
  • A finance manager overseeing the accounting function at a privately held company
  • A principal in a public accounting firm specializing in corporate taxation
  • A director specializing in process improvements for a technology company
  • An engagement partner providing advisory and other services to business clients
The panelists will review their backgrounds and how they arrived at their current positions. They will provide examples of what helped them in their careers as well as missteps they could have avoided. In addition, attendees will have an opportunity to raise specific questions and seek career advice from the panelists.

The program is designed to give accounting students and CPA candidates “real world” insights into working in the various disciplines of professional accounting.
