OVERVIEW

In the first part of this event, a panel discussion will provide an overview of what your company’s cyber incident response plan should include. Following the discussion on cyber preparedness, you will learn about opportunities to expand your services into technology advisory.

HIGHLIGHTS

Cyber Preparedness Training

Attendees will be given simulations of cyber incidents and walk through how to respond to a cyber breach. If your company has a written incident response plan, please review it prior to this presentation. If your company does not have a written plan, come and learn what should be included in it.

Technology Advisory

Learn how and why to advise on technology. This session will broadly touch on the how, why and what to look for in a technology partner to work with.

Brandon's first experience with computers was in the mid-80s with an IBM AT (dual floppy disk drives) provided by the US Army to his parents for remote work. He started working in the field in 1994 and has worked with most mainstream platforms ever since including Novell, MAC and Microsoft-based networks. He has a bachelors in Information Technology and holds several industry certifications. Recently he has been focused on cyber security and public cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS).

Karen Painter Randall is the founder and chair of Connell Foley's Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, and Incident Response Group, where she leads the firm's 24/7 Breach Response Team. She is a national thought leader with extensive experience advising clients from the financial, professional services, healthcare, manufacturing, technology and higher education sectors on cyber risk management and resiliency including AI implementation. She provides guidance on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning tools, particularly with the emergence of generative AI like ChatGPT and Deepfakes. Karen counsels her clients on issues that intersect with cyber-related risks, including insurance, litigation, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and many others. Karen has received significant recognition for her work, having been appointed three times by the President to the ABA's Cybersecurity Legal Task Force. The New Jersey State Bar Association leadership appointed Karen to its Artificial Intelligence Task Force, as Co-Chair of the inaugural Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee, and member of the AI Committee. Among her many honors, most recently, Karen has been named by NJBIZ as a “Leading Women in Business” honoree.

John oversees the industry specific expertise and risk management for McGowanPRO’s accounting and financial clients. Mr. Raspante is the former Director of Compliance and Risk Management as well as the Director of Education for Graf Repetti & Co. LLP, Certified Public Accountants & Business Advisors. Prior to joining Graf Repetti, Mr. Raspante worked nine years for CAMICO Mutual Insurance Company, a provider of accountants’ professional liability insurance. Mr. Raspante’s primary responsibility at CAMICO was providing loss prevention services to the organization’s largest insured’s. Mr. Raspante is a frequent speaker within the accounting profession on issues relating to risk management and professional ethics. He presents regularly at different conferences for accounting firm associations and CPA State Societies. He is a published author and contributor for accounting firm periodicals such as Journal of Accountancy and Accounting Today.
