OVERVIEW

This free, one-day program is designed to provide New Jersey's college accounting students with the skills and guidance to launch successful careers. Participate in team-building events, learn what to expect in your first job/ internship position, receive training in business communications and networking, and explore various career options. CPAs and NJCPA Leaders will share their personal and professional experiences, discuss educational opportunities and provide tips for success.

Jessica leverages her background in PR to bring a fresh and effective perspective to her clients' communication challenges, making her an invaluable asset for those seeking to grow within their career.

Prior to joining Exec|Comm, Jessica worked in Public Relations where she had clients across several industries including real estate, hospitality and interior design. In her role, she pitched and secured timely stories for clients in top tier publications as well as assisted in developing communications strategies. Additionally, she brings professional development and teaching skills from her time at The University at Albany where she worked as a Senior Graduate Assistant in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life while she was receiving her master’s degree in communications.

Jessica holds a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in Communications with a concentration in Political Communications from the University at Albany. When she is not working, Jessica loves to read, shop and go to Broadway shows. One fun fact about Jessica is that her late Grandmother published a children’s book about her, “Grandma, Will you Clap?”

Apolinario (Jun) Medalla Jun Medalla is an Exec|Comm veteran with over 20 years with the firm, and he brings nearly 15 years of financial services industry experience. He coaches executives and trains groups of professionals on how to present, lead, sell, write, and negotiate. Jun leads our firm with a belief that you will be a better communicator if you focus more on others and less on yourself.

Before joining Exec|Comm, Jun was a Vice President at TD Waterhouse, leading their efforts to grow and deepen their high-net-worth client relationships. Prior to that, he worked at Fidelity Investments, holding positions in client service, sales, management, marketing, and quality assurance.

Jun earned an M.B.A from Boston University and an economics undergraduate degree from Boston College. He supports various AANHPI Associations by providing coaching, training, and experience to build the next generation of leaders. Jun, his wife, and three children live in Larchmont, NY. He sees every interaction as an opportunity to enrich his life and impact another’s.

Tafadzwa, affectionately known as Taf, began his public accounting career with Deloitte Zimbabwe in 2013 at the Bulawayo office. After a 2-year study gap, he transferred to the Harare office in 2016, continuing his work as an external auditor in the Audit & Assurance business. In May 2019, Taf moved to Deloitte USA LLP, based in the Parsippany office, joining the Commercial Audit & Assurance service line. Here, he specialized in auditing public companies in the Technology, Media, Financial Services, and Energy and Resources industries. In 2021, he transitioned to the Audit & Assurance, Clients and Markets group, where he still serves today. In his current role, Taf focuses on client communications, broad engagement team support for large and complex engagements, and thought leadership. Taf has over 10 years of external audit experience across various industries, including Telecommunications, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Logistics, Tourism and Hospitality, Not-for-Profit Organizations, and Multinational Corporations. He is proficient in both IFRS and US GAAP frameworks. Taf is a qualified Chartered Accountant registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe and a Registered Public Accountant in Zimbabwe. Additionally, he is a certified business chemistry facilitator. Outside of work, Taf enjoys travel and the great outdoors. He is a big fan of soccer, cricket, and high-energy sports.
