About Joel I. Rosenfeld, CPA

Joel Rosenfeld Joel Rosenfeld is a managing partner of JIR Consulting Co, LLC, in West Orange, New Jersey, providing consulting to the real estate industry. Joel was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU, Schack Real Estate Institute, Graduate Program. Presently, Joel is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Fordham University, teaching real estate taxation in the graduate school. Joel was a CPA for 43 years with extensive experience in real estate accounting and taxation. Joel serves as a special consultant to the New York Times on real estate matters. Besides teaching at NYU, Joel has previously presented programs for AICPA conferences and NAIOP seminars. He is a licensed New Jersey instructor, providing CPE to commercial real estate brokers/salespersons and has been published in multiple real estate publications, and is the author of Principles of Real Estate Accounting and Taxation, a textbook used by many universities. Joel is a past member of the AICPA, the New Jersey Society of CPAs, and served as chairperson for the AICPA National Real Estate Conference, National Tax Committee, the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks, and NYU Real Estate Conference. He was a member of the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants Professional Conduct Committee, the Counselors of Real Estate, a board member of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Center for Real Estate Studies, and a Trustee with the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks.
