Sherise started with the Division in 2007 in the Customer Service Call Center where she gained a vast knowledge of all taxes and programs administered by the Division. Over the course of 10 years, she assisted taxpayers in the preparation of individual income tax forms, business tax forms and assisted with rebate application filings. She also served as a back-up Supervisor and served on various projects within the payment plan and EITC units.
In 2017, Sherise joined the Division’s Taxpayer Accounting Branch, specifically the Property Tax Program Unit. Here, she was responsible for reviewing taxpayer correspondence, reviewing property tax rebate and ANCHOR benefit accounts for eligibility, accuracy, and compliance according to the program guidelines.
In 2024, Sherise began, as a volunteer, educating the senior community about property tax relief during speaking engagements as well as volunteering as a resource agent and or filer at various property tax relief filing events through-out NJ. Today, Sherise is no longer a volunteer but is a colleague within the Outreach and Education department, serving as a Stakeholder Liaison for Tax Practitioners, Small Businesses, and the Senior Community. |
