NJCPA Opens Scholarship Applications for New Jersey Students

Marking its 65^th year of scholarship distribution, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) is now accepting applications for its accounting scholarships. College-bound New Jersey high school seniors, as well as sophomore, junior and senior accounting students at New Jersey colleges or universities, and select students from under-resourced or historically underrepresented communities, are encouraged to apply.

Scholarships for High School Seniors

The NJCPA is offering scholarships to college-bound New Jersey high school seniors who intend to major in accounting or obtain a concentration in accounting at a four- or two-year institution. Awards are $1,500 each.

Scholarships for College Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors

The NJCPA is accepting applications from juniors majoring in accounting who are entering their senior year at a New Jersey college/university and seniors who are enrolling in an accounting-related graduate program in New Jersey. Awards are $6,500 each.
College sophomores or second-year students at New Jersey community colleges who are continuing their education at a four-year college in the fall are encouraged to apply for an NJCPA scholarship. Awards are $2,000 each.

Scholarships Funded by the Deloitte Foundation

Through the generosity of the Deloitte Foundation, the NJCPA Scholarship Fund is awarding three types of one-year scholarships for select students from under-resourced or historically underrepresented communities:

College-bound New Jersey high school seniors who intend to major in accounting or obtain a concentration in accounting at a four- or two-year institution. Awards are $1,500 each.
College sophomores or second-year students who are enrolled in an accounting program or have a concentration in accounting at a New Jersey college. Awards are $2,000 each.
College juniors majoring in accounting who are entering their senior year at a New Jersey college/university and seniors who are enrolling in an accounting-related graduate program in New Jersey. Awards are $6,500 each.

Students applying for the high school scholarships must have a cumulative 3.2 grade point average or minimum 1260 SAT OR 26 ACT score (if taken). The application deadline is Dec. 9, 2024.

Applicants for the college scholarships must apply by Jan. 7, 2025, have a 3.2 GPA by the end of the fall 2024 semester and be a New Jersey resident. Sophomore college applicants must have at least three accounting credits completed by the end of the fall 2024 semester and a total of six accounting credits by the end of the spring 2025 semester, while junior or senior college applicants must have at least 12 accounting credits by the end of the spring 2025 semester.

The NJCPA Scholarship Fund, which is supported by NJCPA member donations, has given out more than $7 million in awards to more than 2,000 New Jersey students since its inception in 1960.

Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, standardized test scores, a 500-word essay and personal interviews.
