The New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJCPA) is pleased to announce the merger of its Morris/Sussex and Essex chapters, effective June 1. The newly formed North Jersey Tri-County Chapter will enhance operational efficiencies and eliminate duplication of efforts while continuing to deliver high-quality programming and networking opportunities for members.
The decision to merge was made to better serve NJCPA members by combining resources, strengthening regional engagement and ensuring a sustainable chapter model for the future. All current Morris/Sussex and Essex chapter members will automatically be assigned to the North Jersey Tri-County Chapter on June 1.
“This merger allows us to be more effective in meeting the needs of our members,” said Chris Martin, CPA, president of the Morris/Sussex Chapter. “By combining forces, we can offer a broader range of events, professional development opportunities and networking connections, all while reducing administrative redundancies.”
Brian King, CPA, president of the Essex Chapter, echoed that sentiment, adding, “We saw a great opportunity to align our efforts and better serve North Jersey’s accounting and finance professionals. This new chapter will foster a stronger, more engaged membership base and enhance our ability to support NJCPA’s mission.”
“I want to extend my sincere thanks to the presidents and board members of both chapters for their leadership and commitment to making this merger a success,” said June Toth, CPA, 2024/25 president of the NJCPA. “Their efforts ensure that our members continue to receive valuable professional development and networking opportunities in a more efficient and effective way.”
