Call for Subject-Matter Experts

We are seeking authors for spring 2023 issue of New Jersey CPA magazine as well as subject-matter experts for other opportunities. Please make a note of the various content submission deadlines noted below.

Submission of this form does not guarantee that you will be assigned the content opportunities you requested. We will be accepting requests until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26. Those who are selected to provide content will be notified by Oct. 31.



1. Content theme: Financial reporting

Topics can include (but are not limited to):

* CECL

* First-year adoption of new leasing standard (lessons learned)
* Quality management standards
* Most-common pitfalls to avoid as found during peer reviews
* Financial reporting options besides GAAP
* Accounting for digital assets

2. Content theme: Litigation services

Topics can include (but are not limited to): 

* What you need to know before an IRS audit and Tax Court challenge

* Tax implications of divorce
* Non-tax implications of divorce
* Advising clients through a bankruptcy
* Family business disputes
* Being an expert witness and providing testimony
* Getting started in litigation

Topics can include (but are not limited to):

* Aging of the accounting profession

* Succession planning
* Mergers and acquisitions
* Private equity considerations
A checklist for what to do when a key employee passes away
* What new CPAs want

4. Columns for fall issue of New Jersey CPA

 

We are also seeking authors for our regular columns for this issue on topics that don’t fall into the three themes listed above. Columns include the following: Accounting, Auditing & Attest; Becoming a CPA; Business Management; Financial Planning Services; Firm Management; Industries; Litigation Services & Business Valuation; Professional Development; Risk & Compliance; Tax; and Technology & Information Management.
