Barry has over 30 years of professional accounting experience and works in Withum's New York office. He is the team leader of Withum’s Tax Services State and Local Tax Group and advises clients in residency and nexus issues, entity level taxes, sales and use taxes and other business and personal tax matters. He also counsels clients in strategic planning, transaction reviews, risk assessment, tax law compliance and corporate restructuring. As an active member of the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA) and the NJCPA, he lectures on tax issues to chapters and to organizations including Baruch College and CW Post College. He is a current member of the NYSSCPA’s Multistate & Local Taxation Committee and served as chairman in prior years. He is also a member of the NJCPA’s State Taxation Interest Group. He was formerly an appointed member of the Commissioner’s Advisory Council for both the NYS Department of Taxation & Finance and the NYC Department of Finance. Keith A. Krauss, Esq., Counsel in the Newark, New Jersey office of Genova Burns, is Director of the Business Law & Commercial Transactions Practice Group and a member of the Construction Law & Litigation, Alcohol & Regulated Products and Intellectual Property Law Practice Groups.

Mr. Krauss handles all aspects of business advice and transactions on behalf of both existing companies and startups including review, negotiation and preparation of all types of commercial agreements including construction and consulting agreements, distribution, manufacturing, and sales agreements and assignment and licensing of intellectual property/interests and rights, formation, dissolution and liquidation of corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and joint ventures; sales and purchases of assets and stock/membership/partnership interests; counseling with respect to and handling of the financing of transactions including conventional and EDA financing and SBA loans; franchising; private placement stock/membership/partnership offerings and agreements. He also provides legal and strategic advice on matters affecting day to day operations and corporate governance issues.

He has also represented numerous clients in commercial and construction disputes, handling court proceedings and commercial and construction arbitrations.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Krauss was a partner in a New Jersey firm specializing in business and commercial law and was general counsel to a comprehensive facilities services company with more than 3,000 employees.

Mr. Krauss belongs to the County, the New Jersey State, and the American Bar Association’s Business and International Law Sections. He is a member of the LLC’s and Partnership Committee, the Intellectual Property Transactions Committee and the Uniform Commercial Code Committee of the ABA’s Business Law Section. He is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Essex Catholic Foundation.

He received his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Assumption College in 1975, and his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law—Newark in 1978. While in law school, Mr. Krauss served as a legal intern with the office of the New Jersey Attorney General and on the Rutgers Moot Court Board. After law school, Mr. Krauss served as Law Secretary to Honorable Martin J. Kole, Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, during the 1978 Court Term.

Richard Sackin

Richard Sackin, CPA is the Tax Partner-in-Charge of the International Services Group at Eisner Amper LLP. He has over 30 years of experience in the fields of accounting and taxation.

Mr. Sackin has many years of experience in handling international tax matters, both with U.S. corporations regarding controlled foreign subsidiaries and foreign corporations regarding in-bound transactions, as well as transfer pricing for re-organizations and expatriate tax issues. A member of the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives (NSAC) for more than 20 years, he also has significant expertise in tax matters for cooperatives, including patronage allocation rules and Subchapter T, Form 1120-C. In addition, he serves as Chair of the PKF International Tax Committee.

He co-authored Prentice Hall's New Jersey Tax Handbook and has spoken before the World Trade Institute in New York on international tax matters. Prior to joining EisnerAmper, he was a Partner and Director of the Tax Department of the New Jersey office of Ernst & Young.

Mr. Sackin holds a B.A. in Accounting from Upsala College and has completed the Columbia University Executive Management Program. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA), where he serves on the Taxation Resource Committee. He is also a member of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Association and is a public member of the disciplinary oversight committee at the New Jersey Supreme Court. In addition, he is a board member of the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey and is very involved in Cancer Care, Inc. of New Jersey.

Matthew Scherer is a partner in Rockland Advisory Group, LLC. Mr. Scherer has more than 25 years of corporate finance experience that includes investment banking, corporate finance, corporate development, leveraged finance, corporate strategy and fund raising. He has led numerous and complex transactions as both intermediary and principal. Mr. Scherer has provided advisory and investment banking services to public, private, domestic and international corporations in media and publishing, medical technology, energy infrastructure and consumer products. Over the last 15 years, Mr. Scherer has been involved in merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions representing total consideration in excess of $6 billion, and debt and equity capital-raising in excess of $15 billion.

Prior to co-founding Rockland, Mr. Scherer was affiliated with Catalyst Capital Advisors, an investment banking and financial advisory firm that addressed the growing demand for investment banking services to middle market companies. Previously, Mr. Scherer founded and was Managing Partner at Peregrine Capital Partners, a boutique investment bank that focused on middle market transactions of private and publicly held companies. Before Peregrine Capital Partners, Mr. Scherer created and managed the Capital Markets Group for M&T Bank as well as all capital markets joint venture relationships. At M&T Bank, Mr. Scherer sat on the Board of Advisors for several investment funds. Prior to M&T Bank, Mr. Scherer served in numerous different capital market positions at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. Mr. Scherer also held the position of Director of Corporate Development at Simon & Schuster, Inc.

Kerri Wright is a principal of Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. and a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, where she co-chairs the Education and Employment Team. She focuses her practice in the areas of education law and employment law, specifically in representation of management in both employment counseling and employment litigation. Kerri handles a variety of employment law matters for the firm’s public and private sector clients in state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies, including the EEOC and the New Jersey Department of Labor. She has litigation and counseling experience in numerous areas of employment law, including issues involving wage and hour claims, restrictive covenants, harassment, discrimination, and whistleblowing.
