Many professionals including corporate management, loan officers, investors, suppliers, customers and auditors use financial statement analysis to perform their daily responsibilities. This program focuses on financial statements and the analysis of financial statements utilizing cases to assess profitability, liquidity and resource management efficiency. We conclude with discussions of non-GAAP performance measurements, forecasting, and valuation.


Industry CPAs, accountants and financial professionals who analyze financial results, evaluate operational performance, perform acquisition due diligence and develop business strategies. The program is also beneficial for auditors when performing risk assessments as a part of audit planning.

Bonnie Kennedy, CPA Bonnie Kennedy, licensed as a CPA in Rhode Island, is a Group Practice Leader for Kaplan Financial Education, powered by Loscalzo Institute, and has over 25 years of experience in the accounting profession. In her current role as a member of the faculty at Salve Regina University, Bonnie teaches a variety of accounting and financial management courses and has published articles in scholarly journals. Bonnie began her accounting career with a regional CPA firm. She was involved in recruiting and training new staff and developed continuing professional education programs for the firm. After initial exposure to both taxation and attestation work, Bonnie eventually specialized in audits of manufacturing companies and not-for-profit entities. As CFO and Controller of a closely held manufacturing firm for over a decade, Bonnie was responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance, cost accounting, government contracting, budgeting, and cash flow management. Bonnie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Accounting in accounting from the University of Rhode Island. She is a member of the Rhode Island Society of CPAs, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the AICPA.
