From advisory services in his time with Webster Investments, to recordkeeping sales in his time with John Hancock, Brian has worked on 401(k)'s from just about every angle. Brian brings with him a team at MandMarblestone that includes both a group of actuaries and ERISA attorneys, which allows MandMarblestone to be prepared to tackle any administrative or plan design complexity that comes their way.

Brian leads a highly qualified team and oversees the retirement plan governance and fiduciary responsibilities for his clients, along with their administration, operations and design. He has more than 20 years of broad experience working in retirement solutions, including managing plans for large, multi-hundred-million-dollar corporations as well as small businesses. Brian supports his clients by designing customized retirement plans that are focused on specific goals and needs. He also shares his knowledge through employee education programs to help plan participants navigate saving for retirement. Brian enjoys playing sports in his free time, and managing his son’s travel baseball team. He and his wife also have twin daughters.

Elizabeth Harper (Liz), Member of the Firm, joined SobelCo in the fall of 2009 to assume the role of Quality Control Senior Manager. In 2014 she was promoted to Director with responsibility for reviewing all of the financial statements and service organization control (SOC) reports issued by the firm along with client correspondences ensuring that the highest quality standards are met and that the reports are in accordance with the established authoritative standards. Liz is dedicated to ensuring that the firm complies with its internal quality standards. This includes involvement with the engagement teams during all phases of the work, personnel training and development, and monitoring of engagement quality. Liz is also responsible for client service of SOC, employment benefit plan (EBP) engagements and other audits.

In 2016 Liz was given the additional role as Director of the Employee Benefit Plan Audit Group and in 2017 was elected as a Member of the Firm. Liz brings insights gained based on her previous experiences at a "Big Four" firm and a local CPA firm to all of the roles she plays at SobelCo.

While at a local firm, Liz had a wide variety of responsibilities across a range of industries, which she draws on daily at SobelCo. From her years at KPMG, Liz is able to leverage the knowledge she gained managing financial and internal control audits, quarterly reviews and agreed upon procedures, with well-known clients ranging from Philips Lighting to Ricoh Corporation. This global exposure adds value to the current SobelCo regional environment and it will be a critical component of future growth as the firm continues to expand, serving national and international clients in the coming years. By combining her perspectives from private industry and public accounting, she can provide meaningful solutions to SobelCo's clients.

Thomas Hoens

Since 2011, Thomas W. Hoens has served as the Chief Operating Officer of the MandMarblestone Group llc, a leading provider of legal, actuarial, and third-party administration services for qualified retirement plans. As COO, Tom worked closely with the partners and staff to restructure workflow to drive a paperless and ‘location agnostic’ transition. These changes helped the company grow its client base by over 50% with no increase in total staff while being able to attract high-quality talent in California, Florida, and Massachusetts. Hoens also previously co-managed a team of thirty forensic accountants investigating and restating sixteen years of financial statements for a publicly held company charged with backdating stock options. Prior to this, he was CFO of a specialty insurance company and the co-manager of Industrial ratings at Fitch Investors Service. Hoens earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Lehigh University.

Chris is a senior financial adviser with Wealth Enhancement Group. He has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry in the areas of accounting and financial planning, and is well-versed in the financial challenges faced by most individuals. Chris has also authored articles on financial planning, divorce and the financial markets. He was the 2018/19 president of the NJCPA Middlesex/Somerset Chapter and is currently the leader of the Business & Industry Interest Group. Chris is also a member of the Financial Planning Association.
