OVERVIEW

The program is designed to familiarize participants with the laws and regulations promulgated by the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy, and it fulfills New Jersey’s mandatory ethics requirement for the 2024-26 triennial reporting period.

DESIGNED FOR

New Jersey and Pennsylvania CPAs who are maintaining their CPA license and accounting and finance professionals who are earning a CPA license

New York licensees: If you have an active New Jersey CPA license and your principal place of business is located outside New York State, this course will fulfill your New York ethics requirement.

Jim Hardenberg, CPA, CAE, CGMA, is chief learning officer for NJCPA. He oversees all aspects of learning and education opportunities that NJCPA provides for members. Programs include executive seminars, conferences, chapter programs, alliance partnerships, self-study programming, on-demand programming and on-site training. Jim ensures that each offering is operating proficiently and efficiently. He also oversees the AICPA Peer Review program by working at a high level with firms, the AICPA, reviewers, review acceptance bodies and the Peer Review Executive committee. He has been with the company for nearly 30 years.Jim has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Montclair State University. He is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Society of Association Executives (MASAE) and served as president of the New Jersey Society of Association Executives (NJSAE) in 2008. He's also a member of the NYSSCPA and the AICPA and has been involved in their committees and task forces. Jim was part of the NASBA CPE Model Rule Task force, which provides national rules for educational requirements for CPAs. Jim was also part of the Northeast CPE conference committee. Jim is a father to four boys, who are now grown, and became a grandpa in 2015. He enjoys announcing for his town's high school football games, is an avid golfer, has served as Eucharist minister, and was part of several Catholic and community-based committees.

Michael Polito

Michael A. Polito, CPA

Michael A. Polito, CPA, was a lead service audit partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP, responsible for services provided to national and international middle market companies, including public and privately-held clients. Prior to retirement, he was also the lead partner for alumni relations, providing continuing education and networking programs to former partners and employees. Mr. Polito is a past president of the New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJCPA) and has served on the NJCPA Board of Trustees as trustee and treasurer. He is a former chairperson of the NJCPA Finance Committee, served on the Bylaws and Continuing Education Task Forces and is a former chair of the Accountancy Bill Committee. In addition, he is a long-standing member and former chairperson of the NJCPA Professional Conduct Committee. Mr. Polito is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the New York State Society of CPAs. He earned a bachelor’s in accounting from Fordham University.
