NJCPA Congratulates New Jersey Division of Taxation’s Marita Sciarrotta on Promotion to Acting Director

Statement by Aiysha (AJ) Johnson, MA, IOM, CEO and Executive Director, New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants

The New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJCPA) extends its congratulations on the promotion of Marita Sciarrotta to Acting Director of the New Jersey Division of Taxation, effective Sept. 25. She had been a deputy director since 2017.  

We are extremely pleased that Ms. Sciarrotta’s dedication and commitment to New Jersey taxpayers and accounting professionals have been recognized. For more than 10 years, we have had a strong working relationship with Ms. Sciarrotta, and during the challenging times of COVID she became an invaluable resource to the Society and to our members. She worked tirelessly to not only inform taxpayers and practitioners of key policy and payment information changes made by the New Jersey Division of Taxation but to also make sure these changes were communicated effectively.

Her efforts are commendable in every way, and we look forward to continuing to work together to enhance New Jersey’s business community.
