BOI Reports Due March 21
The injunction blocking enforcement of the beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting requirement was lifted on Feb. 18. FinCEN subsequently announced that, for now, the filing deadline is March 21, 2025. However, over the next 30 days, FinCEN will evaluate potential deadline adjustments and prioritize reporting for entities posing significant national security risks. We will share any updates.
At the same time, efforts are underway to further delay the deadline. The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill earlier this month that would extend the deadline to Jan. 1, 2026, for entities that were in existence on Jan. 1, 2024. The bill still needs to pass the Senate and be signed by the President.
