| Peggy Tilles is a Senior Tax Manager at Sax LLP, headquartered in Clifton, NJ with additional office locations in New York City. She has over 30 years of accounting firm, government and corporate experience. She has worked at the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, The New York City Department of Finance, Office of Legal Affairs and AT&T prior to joining Sax LLP.
At Sax, Peggy has developed a practice working closely with clients to advise them on multi-state tax matters including tax research, proactive tax planning and state tax exams. More than half of her practice involves state and local sales and use tax matters.
Peggy graduated cum laude from Tufts University, is a graduate of New England School of Law, and obtained a Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M) from New York University School of Law.
Peggy is Sax’s in-house advisor on Research and Development (R&D) tax credits. This involves detailed analysis of a taxpayer’s qualified research expenses including wages, self-employment income, supplies and contract expenses. She also advises clients on how to benefit from locating in New Jersey’s Urban Enterprise Zones.
Peggy focuses on State and Local Tax (SALT) issues including nexus reviews and state tax apportionment analysis for income, franchise and gross receipts taxes. Peggy is a member of the firm’s Manufacturing and Distribution and the Consumer Products and E-commerce practices.
