The IRS is devoting significant new resources to the detection of civil and criminal tax fraud, including failure to file required information reporting returns, the failure of taxpayers to report domestic and international income, and the failure of taxpayers to report virtual currency. This session will provide an overview of recent IRS fraud compliance efforts and how to handle and assist clients with potential civil and criminal tax issues.
